Scientific Program Director
Edwina Orchard

Winnie is the Ann S. Bowers Women's Brain Health Initiative Scientific Program Director. In this role, she is facilitating the development of a standardized measure to record and report reproductive health history factors across the lifespan.

Winnie is a cognitive neuroscientist specialized in the transition to parenthood, and the ways in which pregnancy and caregiving change our brains and minds across the lifespan. Her research passions extend beyond parenthood, to better understanding women’s health more broadly – how female biology and the experience of womanhood shape the brain, cognition, and behavior across adolescence, menopause, and the ageing process. Winnie is particularly interested in disentangling the mechanisms of these interactions, including hormonal and other biological mechanisms, as well as the caregiving environment, gender identity, and societal expectations.
