Ella Carlsson received her B.S. in Biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she investigated the impact of sex hormones on the brain as an honors student with Dr. Emily Jacobs. After graduating, she joined Dr. Carrie Esopenko at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as the lead Clinical Research Coordinator of an NIH-funded multi-site study examining intimate partner violence-related head trauma. Ella is passionate about advancing women’s brain health and is captivated by the neural, cognitive, and mood changes across key endocrine transitions, particularly menopause. She plans to pursue a Clinical Psychology PhD to not only advance women’s health research but also translate this knowledge into evidence-based, personalized care. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and skiing.
